About Us
HISTORY
Our food Closet although now a 501C3 started out in the mid 1980’s in a coat closet in a wing of Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, Phoenix AZ. At that time we distributed food to about 5 families a week. It has grown to distributing food and other basic supplies to an average of 125 families a week. We are now partnered with St. Mary’s Food Bank and Waste Not. During the pandemic when volunteers were unavailable, the National Guard assisted with food distribution. Not knowing what the future holds, we evolved into a 501c3 so that our mission will be available for generations to come.

Olive Branch Community of Hope, in partnership with Mount of Olives Evangelical Lutheran Church, is proud to offer monthly food boxes at no cost to members of the community.

How To Receive a Food Box
Mount of Olives, in partnership with Olive Branch Community of Hope, is proud to offer monthly food boxes at no cost to members of the community.
If you’re interested in picking up a monthly food box, come to our distribution center located at 3546 E Thomas Rd, located to the left of the sanctuary, during operational hours on Thursday.
New guests that are Arizona residents are asked to provide picture ID.e you'd like to show.

Interested in Donating?
We’re always looking for donations of non-perishable and shelf-stable food, in addition to monetary donations. Want to donate food, but not sure what would be helpful? Here’s a few ideas:
- Bags of rice
- Bags of dried beans
- Bags of pasta
- Poptop canned soup
- Poptop canned vegetables
- canned fruit
- Crackers
- canned meats or chicken or tuna packages
